From Roblox to Congress: 2026 Congressional App Challenge
Build a Roblox Game and Earn a Chance to Present It to Congress

Roblox has always believed the best way to learn is by doing. Every day, millions of creators use our free creation Studio to turn their imagination into playable 3D games, learning real-world coding, art design, and creativity skills along the way. Millions of users also learn by playing the educational games available on the platform. This year, we’re taking that work a step further.
Roblox is proud to be the presenting sponsor for the 2026 Congressional App Challenge to help middle and high school students across the U.S. turn their passion for gaming into a competitive edge. The Congressional App Challenge is a prestigious nationwide STEM competition designed to help U.S. students learn how to code, even if they’ve never tried before. And yes: That includes games! Any interactive game built on Roblox qualifies as a submission. In fact, several students in previous Congressional App Challenges have crafted their submissions on Roblox. In both 2024 and 2025, Roblox game submissions won for their districts: Seandertale by Trevor Flores and Allen 100th Anniversary Trivia, by Garrett Showers.
To ensure that every student has the tools to succeed, Roblox is providing Roblox Studio and creator tutorials, and funding and hosting six hands-on workshops across the country. At these workshops, our team of experts will help students build their ideas into working games on Roblox and connect participants to incredible learning resources. Students can register to participate in these events after they’ve completed their challenge registration on the Congressional App Challenge website.
How to Enter:
- Build: Use Roblox Studio (or other tool of choice) to create an original game or app.
- Record: Create a short video demonstrating the game or app, how it works, and any challenges solved (see full submission requirements here).
- Submit: Upload your final materials here by Oct. 26, 2026, at noon EDT.
Each participating congressional district will select one winning submission. Winners will be invited to Washington, D.C., for the annual #HouseOfCode festival, where they can demo their creations directly to members of Congress.
We can’t wait to see the worlds this year’s students build, the games they program, and the creativity they bring to the table—who knows, maybe we’ll even feature a winning game or two on Roblox!
