Introducing Roblox Plus

• Roblox Plus launches April 30, a new subscription available globally for $4.99 USD per month that includes discounts on in-game items and avatars, as well as exclusive platform benefits.

• Roblox will cover the discounts, so creators continue to make the same amount per-item. Subscribers can spread the same number of Robux across more items, allowing creators to earn more.

• Creators can also benefit from subscribers who use a game’s paid private server, and from implementing a new API that enables users to subscribe to Roblox Plus in-game. 

Every day, 144 million users come to Roblox to play games, connect, and build.¹ We’re constantly looking for new ways to deliver value to our most dedicated players while providing creators with more ways to scale their businesses. 

Starting April 30, we’re introducing Roblox Plus, a new subscription designed for our most engaged users. Roblox Plus will be available globally for $4.99 USD per month. By providing exclusive platform benefits as well as discounts on in-game items and avatars, Roblox Plus enables users to stretch their Robux further while directly supporting the creators who make Roblox possible.

Elevating the Player Experience 

Roblox Plus offers savings on activities users already value, making the everyday Roblox experience more rewarding. The benefits include: 

• Smarter Way to Spend: Subscribers receive an immediate 10% discount on in-game items, avatars, and more.

• Double Discount: Starting in a subscriber’s third consecutive month, the discount increases to 20%, rewarding consistent membership. 

• Choose Who to Play With: Subscribers will have access to free and unlimited private servers across all supported games. Private servers allow players to create and manage their own instance of a game, giving them more control over who they play with.

• Transfer Robux for Free: For the first time, we’re introducing direct Robux transfers with no transaction fees. Sending is an exclusive Plus subscriber benefit, while recipients do not need to be on Plus. To help keep transfers secure, parent or caregiver approval is required every time younger users send or receive Robux. Users must be age-checked and 18+ before they can send or receive without parental approval. These safety requirements may continue to evolve over time, including to reflect regional requirements.

• Trade and Resell Avatar Items: Build your collection of rare avatars.

• Publish and Sell Avatar Items: Reach millions of players on the Marketplace.

Roblox Plus subscribers will also receive a distinct badge on their profiles. And soon after launch, we will offer multiple optional bundles—Plus 500, Plus 1000, and Plus 2000. Each bundle includes:

• A Roblox Plus subscription.

• Either 500, 1,000, or 2,000 Robux (depending on the bundle), recurring monthly.

These bundles are a convenient way to pay once for both Roblox Plus and monthly Robux.

This is just the beginning. We’ll be adding additional features to Roblox Plus in the months to come.

Benefiting Creators

We’ve designed Roblox Plus to benefit the entire Roblox platform, including our creators. While subscribers receive a 10% (or 20%) discount on in-game items, avatars, and other Robux purchases, Roblox will cover the discounts—meaning creators will continue to earn the same amount as they do today on any individual purchase. This also enables subscribers to spread the same number of Robux across more items, allowing creators to earn more.

Since one of the features of Roblox Plus is that subscribers receive free, unlimited access to paid private servers, we also want to reward creators for supporting this. Creators can earn up to 100 Robux for every Roblox Plus subscriber who spends 60 or more cumulative minutes in a game’s paid private server over the course of 30 days. We will pay out up to five paid private servers where each Roblox Plus user spent the most time during the 30-day period.

Creators can also benefit directly from Roblox Plus adoption. When a user subscribes to Roblox Plus from within a game that implements the new PromptRobloxSubscriptionPurchase API, the creator receives a bonus of 250 Robux per month. This bonus applies for each of the subscriber’s first three months so long as they remain subscribed, allowing creators to earn up to 750 Robux for every new subscriber they attract.

Our goal is to provide a recurring revenue stream for creators. More and more creators are building businesses on Roblox, growing their teams, and developing games that expand what’s possible on the platform. Building for the Future

With the rollout of Roblox Plus, we’ll no longer offer new sign-ups for our existing subscription, Roblox Premium. Existing Premium members can continue their membership. They can opt into a free 1-month trial of Roblox Plus that they can stack on top of their existing subscription. Members who remain on Roblox Premium will keep their monthly Robux stipend and access to avatar item trading, publishing, and selling. Starting May 30, we’ll discontinue the 10% bonus on additional Robux purchases for Roblox Premium subscribers, as well as the Roblox Premium logo.

Roblox Plus provides a new path for users who want to get more out of the platform and for creators looking for more ways to earn. This launch is only the beginning. We are already developing new benefits to ensure that Roblox Plus continues to evolve alongside the community and enables more fun for years to come.
