Roblox’s Second Annual Teen Council Now Open to Applicants

Opportunity for Teens in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico to Champion Civility

In its second year, Roblox’s Teen Council is expanding for the first time to include young people  from Canada and Mexico and the United States, and applications are now open. The council is an important part of our ongoing goal of fostering a safe and positive online environment for all of our users, including teens and young adults. Users age 14 to 17 can apply here for the next council, which will run from October 2025 to June 2026. Applications are due September 29.

Once selected, members of the Teen Council will collaborate with internal teams at Roblox, offering perspectives on platform features, policies, and resources. By engaging these young leaders, Roblox aims to build a platform where people of all ages can have safe, creative, and positive experiences. The work of this new council will build upon the work done this year by Roblox’s first Teen Council.

Launched in March 2025, the inaugural Teen Council brought together 14 users, age 14 to 17, from across the United States. Council members gained valuable skills in communication, critical thinking, and community building while developing a deeper understanding of digital well-being and civility. The first cohort participated in four ideation workshops to provide input on areas including parental controls, avatar features, community standards, and safety tools. Council members received training in digital citizenship and mental health advocacy, earning mental health ally certificates. They also created community outreach content, developing mental health tips that were shared on Roblox’s Instagram Stories, and collaborated with media literacy organizations to produce public service announcements about safety and digital literacy.

Mental health tips created by the 2025 Teen Council and shared on Roblox's Instagram Stories.

“We’re thrilled to be expanding the 2026 Roblox Teen Council to North America and building on the success of our first cohort,” said Andres Cuervo, Youth Engagement Program Manager at Roblox. “This program is all about education and empowerment—giving young people a seat at the table to share their perspectives and learn about key topics in digital well-being, safety, and civility.”

The 2025 council members told us they felt empowered to become leaders in online safety and to champion digital well-being among other teens. Engaging with these young leaders and hearing their voices was equally important for Roblox as we work to build a platform that’s relevant, authentic, and an overall positive experience for teens and young adults.

“Teen Council showed me that the voices of the young DO matter,” said 2025 Teen Council member Jaya. “That it’s empowering to be in the position that helps shape ideas that could possibly affect millions of people; it truly showed me that if we’re given the chance, we can make an impact.”

“Being part of the Roblox Teen Council was an incredible journey that shifted my perspective from a player’s view to a global one, teaching me that creating a safe and positive community is a complex, collaborative effort,” said 2025 Teen Council member Helena. “There are so many layers and details that go into creating changes within Roblox as a whole.”

Applications for the 2026 Roblox Teen Council, which will run from October 2025 to June 2026, are open here through midnight PDT on September 29. Users living in Mexico, Canada, or the U.S. who are age 14 to 17 can apply now for the chance to collaborate with Roblox teams, develop leadership skills, and advocate for civility online.
