A Look at the 2026 Roblox Incubator Cohort

Get an Early Glimpse of the Novel Games That 6 of Our 26 Incubator Teams Are Building.

In March we announced Roblox Incubator and Roblox Jumpstart, a pair of programs designed to directly support creators exploring novel games, which we define as games that explore new genres, new gameplay mechanics, and new visual styles on the platform and are generally intended for older players. While applications for the Jumpstart program remain open, we’re excited to reveal our first cohort of Incubator participants, and they are working on bold games that push the boundaries of what exists on Roblox.

Incubator is an intensive six-month program where experienced teams take promising novel game concepts from prototype to polished games. The 2026 Incubator cohort includes 26 teams selected via a rigorous application process. Roblox is providing mentorship, support, and guidance to teams as they work to bring their visions to life. In the coming months, as teams achieve specific milestones, they can unlock additional resources and support. Once released, the games should also benefit from our increased DevEx rate, which we bumped by 42% for eligible in-game spend generated by age-checked 18 and older players in the U.S.

We’re excited by what we’ve seen so far from this year’s Incubator cohort. Teams are building everything from an RPG where players wield mysterious elemental powers to a dinosaur-themed extraction shooter to an open-world driving game. There is still a long way to go before Incubator concludes, but some teams are already showing off early glimpses of their work—leveraging our latest environment, creation, performance, and avatar technology—as they begin pushing the boundaries of Roblox Studio.

Here is an early look at some of the creators in the 2026 Incubator cohort and the exciting novel games they’ll be bringing to Roblox later this year:

Octane

Developer: Ignition Switch

Octane is a sprawling open-world driving game from developer Ignition Switch. Cars drift through the colorful streets of La Vista and speed through the surrounding desert, as players explore this vibrant landscape, either alone or with friends. Built-in races are supplemented by a robust UGC ecosystem, allowing players to design new race tracks and customize their cars.

“Roblox’s Incubator program has been an exciting opportunity to support our vision for Octane and explore the upper limits of the platform,” said Michael Loconte, Founder & CEO of Ignition Switch. “Putting fidelity at the heart of Octane, we’re proud to be leveraging the engine to create our own style of immersive vehicle physics, vibrant environments, and user-generated content opportunities.”

Sky Pixel

Developer: Pixel Count

A new RPG from the developers of the acclaimed Pixel Quest, Sky Pixel is a cozy farming and building game where players design, automate, and expand their own floating islands while exploring a vast shared world together. Sky Pixel allows players to choose their own journeys, all within a unique 2D world.

“We are incredibly excited to be given the opportunity to be a part of Roblox’s Incubator program,” said Michael Carreno, Founder of Pixel Count. “We’re looking forward to learning how we can further adapt and expand our vision while pushing Roblox Studio to its limits. We cannot wait to continue pioneering the way for 2D games on the platform.”

Cosmic Carnage

Developer: Ghost Fox Games

Road rage is a given in Cosmic Carnage. Reviving the classic car combat genre, Cosmic Carnage pits outlandish hero vehicles against each other in a futuristic demolition derby. Hop into Ironjaw, a bruising muscle car with a roof-mounted rotary machine gun, or Apoco-Taco, a neon-lit food truck loaded with heavy weaponry. Missiles will fly as players battle it out across large, destructible arenas. Ghost Fox Games, the team behind Cosmic Carnage, brings together talent from EA, Unity, Disney, and beyond.

“When we decided to build a modernized car combat game, we knew the driving and shooting had to feel exceptional,” said Nick Tremmaglia, Co-founder of Ghost Fox Games. “After early prototyping in Roblox, we confirmed it had the foundation we needed to support our custom physics layer on top of a server-authoritative architecture, giving us the control to create a fair, high-fidelity experience that can reach millions of players without compromise.”

Fossil Force

Developer: Nibblebyte

Fossil Force is a high-stakes extraction shooter where the greatest threat isn’t other players—it’s the dinosaurs. Dropped into a cinematic depiction of the Mesozoic Era, players must navigate ancient Jurassic biomes with danger around every corner. Each mission pushes players deeper into a world that feels alive, and they must escape with rare materials to upgrade their equipment and become more powerful. With Fossil Force, developer Nibblebyte expands on its experience building the dinosaur simulation game Be Dino.

“With Fossil Force, we’re pushing dinosaur fidelity beyond just visual detail. We want every creature to feel massive, interactive, and dangerous the moment players encounter them,” said Matthew Joseph, Team Lead. “Our models are inspired by cinematic Jurassic realism, but elevated with lifelike scale, movement, texture, and presence so players feel like they’re surviving these dinosaurs, not simply fighting them.”

Drifters

Developer: Look North World

Founded by alumni from Bungie, Disney Interactive, EA, Epic, and numerous other iconic game studios, Look North World’s Incubator project is an extraction shooter set in a dangerous world full of hostile enemies and even-more-hostile players. Those brave enough to venture into the lawless zones must try to secure loot to upgrade their character, balancing reward with ever-present risk.

“I spent my career trying to zig while others have zagged, always looking for new opportunities to learn and grow as a game developer, and my journey on Roblox so far has been the most exciting and personally rewarding since my early days making games on the PC,” said Alexander Seropian, Founder and CEO of Look North World. “There’s just such an energy around the audience growth, tools, and opportunities on this brand-new (to me) platform, and I think it represents a really important part of Interactive’s future. We’ve decided to build our game here on Roblox to reach this new gaming audience. And we’ve been pleasantly surprised by the quality and depth of the tools and energy that support our craft of making the best games we can.”

Aetherfall

Developer: Pixel Blaze Studio

Aetherfall is an open-world, progression-driven RPG created by Roblox veterans Pixel Blaze Studio. Players traverse a vast world shaped by the titular Aetherfall, a mysterious phenomenon that introduced elemental powers to the world. Complete fantastical missions and defeat enemies in combat to unlock new abilities, master the elements, and venture into uncharted territory where advanced enemies and challenges await.

“The Incubator program has been fast-paced and incredibly valuable, helping us sharpen our gameplay design, art, UI, and engineering skills as we bring Aetherfall to life,” said Paul MacNairn, Head of Art at Pixel Blaze Studio. “We’re building an open-world elemental RPG that combines exploration, build crafting, and long-term progression in ways that we believe can help push Roblox RPGs forward. Our goal is to create a world that feels as deep and rewarding as the best RPG experiences anywhere, and the Incubator program is helping us get there faster and better.”

Incubator applications are currently closed, but Roblox Jumpstart applications remain open on a rolling basis for anyone with great game ideas!
